Ryan began his martial arts journey at the age of 5, training in Chishin-Ryu Karate-do, where he earned the Black Belt rank of Shodan recognized by Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, Kyoto Japan. His commitment to physical fitness continued as he became an alumnus wrestler at Benedictine College Preparatory. Currently, Ryan is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at James Madison University, where he not only hones his jiu-jitsu skills but also leads self-defense instruction for JMU Empowered3 students, helping them enhance their physical and mental well-being.
In 2022, Ryan earned his Instructor Certification in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu from the esteemed Gracie Jiu-Jitsu University Headquarters in Torrance, California. He is a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu 1st stripe Purple Belt. With a solid foundation in both karate and jiu-jitsu, Ryan is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and passion for martial arts with his students.
